Camping

Every year, Troop 253G has about one camping trip a month. You are required to attend at least 6 camping trips a year, but are required to attend all. Mostly, cabin trips are $50 and tent trips are $40. You must pay $30 for cabin and $20 for tent trips, 2 weeks before hand. The permission slip is handed in with the money. Then, the following week, you bring the remaining $20 for food and you camping bag for inspections.

Basic things you need for camping are:
– Troop shirts (must be purchased)
– Hoodie/Sweater
– Extra shirts
– Pants
– Socks
– Undergarments
– Sleeping bag
– Sleeping Mat
– Mess Kit
– Wash kit (Toiletries)
– Hand warmers
– Extra shoes (for cabin)

Day bag items:
– Scout Handbook
– Work gloves
– Rope
– Pocket Knife (Can only be used if you have Totin Chit)
– Compass
– Notepad and Pen
– Sun Protection
– Water Bottle
– Snack(s)
– Extra clothing
– First Aid Kit
